Lessons in Life

In the palette of life held by mere fortune
Gratis are vivid colors to adorn existence
The shades of grey that brings the blues
Only helps the bright to appear brighter

On the crossroads we make the choice
Often unwary of how it shall reverberate
Upon retrospection that lends remorse
Only nudges the wise to become wiser

Behind every unwelcome stoic face
Broken is the soul we judge pathetic
That acid impression of being numb
Only makes the smile look graceful

So much for the words left unsaid
We wish to relive the elapsed time
The very memory of a kiss of death
Only hints the present is to cherish

Some desires of us buried ocean deep
Intimidated by bounds made up in mind
Hope that matches the dimensions of faith
Only makes our life the life worth living
