EXFOLIATION - Taking away the dead skin

Exfoliation is nothing but the removal of the oldest dead skin cells on the skin's outermost surface. This can be achieved through mechanical or chemical means.
EXFOLIATION
I’m going to answer below few of the most commonly asked questions.

Q. Is exfoliation important?

A. Yes, it is important to exfoliate the dead skin layer so that fresh skin can take its place

We are constantly exposed to various pollutants, improper diet, hormonal imbalances, stress etc in our day to day lives and more often than not, our skin is damaged in some form. So it certainly becomes necessary to exfoliate.

But please keep in mind that this procedure is best done in the evenings. The dead cell layer although prevents you from the harmful sun rays, yet it needs to be cleared. It gets rid of the dullness, tanning, and damage of the skin. Thus, fresh looking skin is revealed.

Q. How often should we be going in for an exfoliation?

A. Twice a week should be a good number. I do not recommend doing this procedure every day. Please visit your skin expert to figure out any other details of your skin but do not try any DIYs without advice from your doctor.

Q. How do we exfoliate our skin?

A. There are two major ways of exfoliating your skin

1. Physical - This includes
a. Taking in a product and doing the procedure at home.
b. Microderma abrasion- This is done by your skin expert and they will have the required tools to get rid of that dead skin efficiently and precisely. 2. Chemical - This is done by application of chemical peels by your doctor and it is another safe and effective procedure when done right.

If you choose to go with option a- then- wash your face well. Apply a liberal amount of the product (choose your product as per your skin type). Go in circles around your entire face and be gentle all along for roughly around 2 minutes. Once done, wash with a generous amount of water. Make sure you complete the procedure by applying a moisturizer.

P.S: Do not forget to apply the moisturizer.
