TED is an annual event that brings together the world’s leading thinkers and doers to share ideas that matter in any discipline — technology, entertainment, design, music, science, humanities, business, development, etc. In the spirit of “ideas worth spreading”, TED has created TEDx, a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event speakers and TED Talk videos combine to spark deep discussion and connections. TEDxVITVellore is Vellore’s only official TEDx Event.

TEDxVITVellore is a budding community of young enthusiasts who wish to bring to the world newer and inspiring ideas from various corners of India and the world. The objective of TEDxVITVellore is that it becomes a local forum for ideas within our community that inspires people to change their lives, their futures, and ultimately their world.

With this objective in mind, the TEDxVITVellore team works towards researching high achieving individuals with unique ideas and provides them with a platform to share their stories and dreams with the world in the form of 18 minute talks. Today, inspired by the power of ideas, the TEDx program has its presence in over 168 countries through more than 10,000 events and we are delighted to be contributing to this initiative!

TEDxVITVellore's first event, last year, hosted 10 speakers from 4 countries who represented various walks of life, from sports to technology to performance art and social empowerment! The event gave an opportunity to many young students to learn from these inspiring stories and also gave the speakers a great networking opportunity to collaborate on their ventures together. Speaker list included, Smt. Vanitha Mohan, Mr. Sarath Champati, Ms. Gloria Benny, Mr. Abhijeet Barse and Mr. Adamu Bashiru from Nigeria, among others

Following the tremendous success of last year’s event, the second edition of TEDxVITVellore is scheduled on the 1^st of November, 2014. The theme for this year’s event is “Today’s Vision, Tomorrow’s Reality”. Through this diverse theme 11 leading change-makers from various walks of life will be brought together to share their amazing stories and experiences through the platform. The event this year will feature some of the most prominent names in India such as, Padma Shri Dr. V. Shanta, Dr. R Balasubramanian, Mr. CP Vishwanath, Mr. V Sriram, Rizwan Tayabali, among others who will charm the audience with their charisma and inspire them to create positive change in their communities.
