A little girl and a little boy
A little girl once winked at me,
said with her eyes what her lips could not speak.
A little girl once smiled at me,
said with her flushed cheeks what her voice could not tell.
I know this little girl.
She's now a woman but to me,
she'll forever be that little girl who once held me tight,
spoke to my heart with her arms what her words made light.
I'm now a man who still lives in his little boy dreams,
where once this little girl kissed
and mended my heart that even I had missed.
There was once such a little girl. There is still that little boy.
