If you’re a sports person, there is no better place to test your talents than at Spree’17. With colleges participating from multiple cities, Spree’17 would provide you with the perfect platform to go against some of the top college teams in the sporting arena. The number of participants at Spree has been on the rise for the past couple of years, and the early pointers this year seem to keep up with the positive trend.

2. The Nights

If not for the high level of competition among the different college teams, the nights will definitely have you interested. Over the last couple of years, Spree has been able to attract some big names in the music industry to perform on campus. Spree has been graced with performances by famous bands like Agnee and by renowned artists like Papon.

3. New Sports

This year Spree has gone out of its comfort zone by introducing two new sporting events- Taekwondo and Kabaddi. With the Pro Kabaddi Leage finding many spectators and fans, a lot of  young folk have taken to the sport, and it is coming up in a big way among the college students. What better way to ride the wave and promote the sport than include it in a national level sports festival. There are bound to be many professional teams eager to show off their talent on a national platform.

4. Miscellaneous Activities

If none of this has got you interested, Spree also conducts many miscellaneous events during the three day fest that never fails to attract large crowds. You can try your hand at multiple open events that add a twist to some of the conventional events. Anti-Chess- A variation of chess where you play to lose, Rapid Chess, Table tennis Shuffle- Mixed doubles table tennis event where the partners are shuffled after every round, Tug of war, Gully cricket, Futsal, etc are events to look out for. Keep your ear tuned, as there would also be a Hogathon during one of the three days of the fest, which obviously requires no pre-requisite, other than having a very large appetite.
