A celebration becomes more meaningful when it creates an opportunity to give. This belief lies at the heart of Joy of Giving, a Bengaluru-based initiative featured in One Young World’s September 2026 Ambassador Spotlight for its work connecting life’s milestones with structured acts of Seva.

Founded by Nirmal Jain and Vishvesh Wali, the founders of Swaad Group, Joy of Giving seeks to transform personal and family celebrations into opportunities to serve communities and contribute to causes that deserve care. Sujit Lalwani, a returning One Young World Ambassador for 14 years, serves as the initiative’s Founding Trustee, helping strengthen its purpose and direction.

The One Young World feature places the initiative among a global community of changemakers demonstrating how locally rooted efforts can create meaningful social impact.

Joy of Giving Turns Celebrations into Seva

Many important moments in life—birthdays, anniversaries, family milestones and other celebrations—are traditionally marked through gatherings and shared experiences. Joy of Giving offers another dimension to these occasions by creating opportunities to celebrate through service.

Based in Bengaluru, the initiative connects individuals, families and organisations with community needs through three key pillars: Ashram Seva, Annaprasadam and Gau Seva.

The idea is straightforward: a personal milestone can also become an occasion to bring nourishment, care and support to others. Instead of limiting a celebration to those gathered for it, the act of giving can extend its meaning to people and living beings beyond the immediate circle.

This approach makes Seva more accessible as a practice that can be incorporated into everyday life, rather than reserved for occasional charitable contributions.

Three Pillars Creating Measurable Impact

According to One Young World’s September 2026 Ambassador Spotlight, Joy of Giving’s work is organised around three distinct forms of service.

Ashram Seva focuses on serving nutritious meals to residents of old-age homes, children’s homes and special schools. The initiative has served meals to more than 50,000 people, according to the published feature. Beyond the meal itself, this work brings attention to the importance of nourishment and care for communities that can benefit from sustained support.

Annaprasadam involves large-scale meal services at temples and community centres. The One Young World feature reports that the initiative has conducted more than 500 Annaprasadam drives, serving over 200,000 people. These efforts highlight how food can become a practical expression of community service, bringing people together around a shared act of giving.

Gau Seva supports trusted gaushalas by providing fodder, fruits, vegetables and specially prepared rotis. The feature reports that more than 10,000 cows have received support through this pillar.

Together, these three areas give Joy of Giving a structured approach to service, spanning meals for people and the care of animals. The initiative has also delivered more than 100 celebrations, as reported by One Young World.

The Founders Behind the Initiative

Nirmal Jain and Vishvesh Wali, founders of Bengaluru-based Swaad Group, are the founders behind Joy of Giving. Their involvement connects the initiative with an entrepreneurial journey rooted in the food and catering space, where nourishment, hospitality and service naturally intersect.

Building an initiative around giving requires more than a good intention. It calls for coordination, planning and a structure that can translate generosity into meaningful action. Joy of Giving’s three-pillar model provides a framework through which individuals, families and organisations can participate in service in a more organised way.

""

Recognising Nirmal Jain and Vishvesh Wali is an important part of telling the complete story of the initiative. Their founding role deserves acknowledgement alongside the social impact and international recognition that Joy of Giving has received.

Sujit Lalwani’s Role as Founding Trustee

Sujit Lalwani serves as the Founding Trustee of Joy of Giving. His connection with One Young World extends across 14 years as a returning Ambassador, giving him a longstanding association with an international community focused on leadership, collaboration and positive change.

The September 2026 Ambassador Spotlight identifies Lalwani as the Founding Trustee and describes Joy of Giving’s mission, its three pillars and its reported impact.

""

His role in the initiative is slightly distinct from that of its founders. Nirmal Jain and Vishvesh Wali founded Joy of Giving and have brought it functional to the current scale of impact, while Lalwani joined as Founding Trustee to contribute to the initiative’s progress and scaling it with partnerships and collaborations.

Together, these roles form an important part of the story behind the initiative: founders who established the effort and a trustee who joined to support its mission.

One Young World’s September 2026 Spotlight

One Young World’s monthly Ambassador Spotlight recognises members of its global community who are creating social impact locally, regionally or internationally. Its September 2026 edition features initiatives addressing a range of challenges, from agriculture and environmental protection to youth empowerment, education and community wellbeing.

Joy of Giving’s inclusion brings international attention to a Bengaluru-based initiative focused on service through food and animal care. The reported numbers provide a tangible view of its work, while the underlying idea offers a broader message: meaningful social contribution can begin with the way people choose to celebrate life.

This story also presents an opportunity to recognise the people behind the initiative—not only the Founding Trustee named in the international feature, but Nirmal Jain and Vishvesh Wali, whose founding roles establish the initiative’s origins.

Making Every Celebration Count

Joy of Giving presents a practical way to connect personal milestones with a wider sense of responsibility. Its work across Ashram Seva, Annaprasadam and Gau Seva demonstrates how a structured initiative can channel generosity into activities with measurable reach.

The recognition in One Young World’s September 2026 Spotlight places this work within a global conversation about leadership and social impact. Equally important is the story of the people behind it: Nirmal Jain and Vishvesh Wali, founders of Swaad Group and Joy of Giving.
