Noise Around Impact of AI on Brain, Cognition and Progress of Mankind

Human civilisation has seen one trend more frequently than any other trend even compared to available data on google trends or twitter ever, and that is resistance and expression of fear towards change and new developments.

The TV stepped in and we had chaos everywhere on how it could possibly become the greatest disaster ever; become the devilish distraction that human civilisation didn’t deserve and wasn’t ready for, and then same happened with mobile phones, then with high speed internet, then with shorts/reels and now with AI tech and apps.

Schools weren’t spared either, I just recalled. They were the place where creativity was killed [and everywhere else it bloomed, right?]. Here’s the thing, innovation and improvisation is how we have come this far in the first place, and to blame it all on progress that tech it is taking us backwards is like claiming that reaching the top of the summit made us realize that life was better off at the foothills.

Well, I don’t shy away from accepting that there are pros and cons to everything and for every step we take forward there are chances of failing and falling or even hurting other fronts where progress was already made.

Does that mean we doubt and resist every change? The act of doubting ends up getting consumed by a large part of civilisation that is super gullible as factual stuff, and they are consumed by each side, every day, dwindling between extremes without ever gaining stability and making progress with the rest of civilisation. Their confusions don’t meet an end and “to each his own” doesn’t apply here.

Some of us are more privileged and have greater access compared to others and that by no means is a reason to be irresponsible by acting as the resistance to progress. One could be the catalyst to take the progress in consumable formats to masses instead of all the time playing the resistance team.

We were born as humans. A true blessing. It means we could comprehend the world better than any creature; use it, appreciate it, modify it and augment it with our faculties. That ability certainly requires more time, and hence also commands the convenience of our mundane tasks being done by others for us.

In early times of history royal families had slaves[not something we could imagine or comprehend in our times] and as we progressed from those times, by valuing every human life enough, to be able to bring equal opportunities to table for all, we developed machines and these machines could do our mundane tasks with precision and ease, and also equally for all.

Of course, what separates the access to these machines is the economic disparity, but to match up for that, several NGOs have stepped in, social impact projects have taken birth. Commercially Tech is being made cheaper and cheaper, making it available to all as time proceeds.

This clearly indicates that one of the clear objectives of this contemporary civilisation that we live in, is growth and access of that growth for all. This has resulted in times where humans are, for first time in known history, free from slavery, and have machines, codes, algorithms and tech at their disposal.

This much freedom isn’t something we had the appetite for a century ago and hence if you see large traces of human behaviour among many, still reflects a tendency to get entangled in rejecting the progress in an attempt of either getting back to having human masters or fear of getting enslaves by machines.

The very aspect that we are here to excercise multiple faculties of ours that are different from other creatures makes us ahead of all tech and AI, and to experience that very experience is why we have come this far and I strongly feel that no matter what we cannot go backwards just because what once occupied our brains is now doable by machines.

I rather strongly feel that it is the single reason that it is time for us to explore the depth of our sub conscious brains instead, and touch higher/richer realms of consciousness while machines do our mundane tasks.

While the topic calls for a lot more research and deeper discussions including exploration from more angles, I still call this article an initiator of the line of thought for all of us.

I invite your opinions in the comments [on whichever platform you found this on [or whatsapp using the link below]] and look forward to getting on the page as you who is reading this.

I am excited frankly to be a part of this giant leap mankind seems to be taking with AI. Isn’t it giant enough to discuss and prepare ourselves for?

Thank you for reading the unedited one too.

It clearly shows how much you enjoyed reading this one as much as I enjoyed writing this one out. Clearly AI helped improvise the tonality isn’t it? Of course it took away the soul I input in my piece as “ME” but then the whole idea, base, content and set of points were mine, they were just improvised by AI. Assistive enough to improvise the whole thing. Am happy with the output. What about you?

I look forward to your opinions and comments. It deserves a discussion :)
