On the 17th June 2025, Activate! Change Drivers graced the deep rural area of Ga-Marishane in Limpopo Province to revive ties with the Marishane Youth Hub to assess the state of youth and community affairs within the community. Their visit, led by the Network Programs leader Ms. Lebohang Zimba together with the Network Support Coordinator for Civic Education leader Ms. NonhlanhlaDube, received the Marishane Royal embrace upon arrival.

“We welcome you to the Marishane Royal House. We wish to confirm to you that, most things that you’ve read about us from the media, are indeed correct. This is the home of stars that has produced marvelsacross every field. Be it Sports, Education, Politics, etc. Most prominent people, the likes of Nkosi Zwelivelile Mandla Mandela (grandson of Nelson Mandela), St. Manche Masemola and Ludwick Marishane among others in the country, do identify and belong here”, remarked Mr. Masenye Harry Masemola in his welcome address on behalf of the Marishane Royal House.
Activate! Change Drivers is a network of young people from different family and community backgrounds who are self-driven to make positive changes in their communities and the world. The program has trained politicians, scientists and entrepreneurs all working for a common and shared goal: community development.
“We have come as Activate Change Drivers officials to visit your home in Ga-Marishane. Part of the reason we’ve come here, is to see what young people are doing in the community, and in doing so, meet them half-way in amplifying their voices. We wish to emphasise however, that as the officials from Activate! Change Drivers, we feel immensely proud and privileged to be in the same network as your child, Koketso Marishane.
His works speak volumes and we thank you as his parents for allowing him to be with us. Our CEO, Ms. Siphelele Chirwa together with our colleagues from DGMT have already graced this platform before us thus we’re standing on established protocol. Ours is to re-affirm the working existence between our office and the Marishane Youth Hub through Koketso Marishane,” remarked Ms. Lebohang Zimba.
“This is the first community in the whole Sekhukhune District Region that has produced the most professionals across faculties from the region. Every profession that exists in the world, is represented in this Marishane community. We therefore, warmly invite you, time permitting, to immerse yourselves in the rich history of the community as you start your navigation,” remarked Mr. De-Wet Senaudi Masemola from the Marishane Royal Kraal.
“We remain grateful for your physical presence with us here in the community and we remain assured that you too, are witnessing the tiny ripples of effect of your organisational vision unfolding before your eyes. We recognise, acknowledge and celebrate the milestones achieved with Koketso, and we wish you all the best of luck in your future activities with him as you continue developing our beloved people in the community. We wish to emphasise too, that you’re fortunate to be in the physical presence of the new Senior Traditional Leader, Kgoshi TK Marishane who also serves at the Limpopo House of Traditional Leaders”, concluded Ms. Lornia Masemola-Mamogoboon behalf of the Moroangoato Traditional Council.
