Ho Chi Minh City – November 22, 2024 – HEX, an award-winning Australian education technology company, has officially launched its operations in Vietnam on the occasion of its second innovation bootcamp in Ho Chi Minh City on November 25. The company aims to inspire innovation, entrepreneurship, and skill-building among Vietnam’s youth through its university-accredited programs and startup events.
HEX’s expansion into Vietnam includes the introduction of its flagship innovation programs and the offer of 100 full scholarships valued at AUD 1,200 each to Vietnamese students. The company’s first innovation bootcamp in Ho Chi Minh City was successfully implemented from June 22 to July 6, 2024.
Jaclyn Benstead, Co-Founder and Head of New Market Expansion at HEX, said, “Vietnam’s rapidly growing economy and focus on digital transformation make the country an ideal location for HEX’s expansion. We believe that by bringing our unique learning model to Vietnam, we can help bridge the gap between traditional education and the evolving needs of the global job market.”
HEX’s programs focus on employability, digital skills, and entrepreneurship, preparing students for the challenges of a rapidly changing workforce. The company has partnered with over 45 universities globally and collaborated with tech giants like Google and Microsoft.
Aaron Everhart, leader of Draper Startup House Vietnam, commented on the partnership with HEX: “The combination of HEX’s innovative education approach and our local ecosystem knowledge creates a powerful synergy. This collaboration will significantly contribute to Vietnam’s goal of becoming a top 50 country in the Global Innovation Index by 2030.”
The expansion aligns with Vietnam’s vision for economic growth and innovation. Jonathan Saw, Austrade’s Trade and Investment Commissioner to Vietnam and Cambodia, stated, “HEX’s arrival in Vietnam is timely and welcome. Their programs will help equip the young workforce with the entrepreneurial skills needed to drive our country’s digital economy forward.”
HEX’s new operations in Ho Chi Minh City will serve students, educators, and corporate partners. The company plans to organise events, including an upcoming networking night and startup pitch night, to foster connections within the local education and business communities.
The launch of HEX in Vietnam comes at a time when the country is experiencing rapid economic growth and an increasing focus on innovation-based entrepreneurship. With a young, tech-savvy population, Vietnam presents a fertile ground for HEX’s programs.
HEX’s unique learning model, Exponential Intelligence™, aims to enhance traditional academic education with future-focused innovation capabilities. Since its founding in 2017, HEX has engaged over 10,000 students worldwide through its programs in cities such as San Francisco, Singapore, and Melbourne.
The company’s expansion into Vietnam is part of its broader strategy to create the Asia Pacific’s first Neo University – a new, innovative model of higher education that focuses on economic empowerment for the APAC region. By offering programs that bridge the gap between education and industry needs, HEX aims to create tangible opportunities for young Vietnamese talents to thrive in the global marketplace.
