Infocus International Announces 2025 Dates for the LNG Supply, Demand, Pricing & Trading Online Course
Infocus International Group has confirmed the 2025 schedule for its top-rated LNG: Supply, Demand, Pricing & Trading online training. The program will be conducted live, commencing on 18th March and 9th September, 2025.
The early 2020s marked significant transformations in the global LNG market, driven by the impact of COVID-19, the Ukraine conflict, and the ongoing energy transition. LNG and natural gas prices experienced dramatic fluctuations, dropping to $2/MMBtu in 2020 due to reduced demand during the COVID crisis and soaring above $70/MMBtu in 2022 as Europe’s demand spiked following Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.

While 2023 and 2024 have seen more stable pricing—albeit still roughly double pre-pandemic levels—supply and demand growth slowed from around 5% in 2021–2022 to 2% in 2023 and 1.5% in 2024. High prices, economic slowdowns, unscheduled maintenance, and project delays have all contributed to this trend.
New liquefaction capacity additions in 2024 were limited, including a 0.6 mtpa project in Congo and a 1.4 mtpa offshore project in Altamira, Mexico.
Looking ahead, the latter half of the 2020s promises substantial supply growth, with major liquefaction projects in Qatar, the USA, and Canada set to add approximately 200 mtpa of capacity to the existing 485 mtpa as of the end of 2024.
Despite anticipated declines from older facilities, global supply and demand are projected to grow from 408 mtpa in 2024 to 645 mtpa by 2030. Meanwhile, over 400 mtpa of capacity is currently in the planning phase, with developers targeting a Final Investment Decision (FID) on over 100 mtpa by the end of 2025.
However, questions remain about long-term demand for LNG as countries pursue net-zero emissions by 2050 or 2060. While developers argue that LNG will play a key role in the renewable transition, environmental advocates emphasize the need to curb fossil fuel use to address climate change.
Additionally, some buyers and financiers are hesitant to commit to projects expected to operate into the 2040s, given the substantial investment required.
This six-session online training course will explore the challenges and opportunities within the LNG industry as it strives to meet consumer demands through 2050. While the primary focus will be on commercial aspects, the course will also cover technological developments and shipping considerations.
Participants will gain a comprehensive understanding of markets, supply sources, pricing, trading, and the industry’s response to the energy transition. The course is tailored for both newcomers seeking foundational knowledge and experienced professionals looking to stay updated.
“Excellent overview of the LNG industry end-to-end. I would highly recommend it to anyone wanting to learn about the industry,” said a past attendee from Murphy Exploration and Production.
A past attendee from MINISTRY OF PETROLEUM also shared, “Good, interesting and useful for my place of work. Taking into account an LNG plant that is being built in my country.”
