Mechanism of Goal Setting

“The greater danger for most of us is not that our aim is too high and we miss it, but that it is too low and we reach it” -Michelangelo

The most important part of getting a great shape is to simply make up your mind to do so.

This might be the most important key to reach the desired goal of fitness, even though it has nothing to do with calorie, protein, carbohydrates, fats, cardio, weights or anything else related to nutrition or training. A lot has been said and written about goal setting; entire books have been devoted to the subject but the truth is most people never decide exactly what they want.
Mechanism of Goal Setting
This is unfortunate because the number one reason for failure in not attaining desired fitness is the lack of clearly defined, written goals.

Goals when properly planted in the subconscious mind produce action. Goals create energy and motivation. Goals get you out of bed early in the morning and into the gym. The secret to staying motivated all the time is to set emotionally charged goals.

You might think that you are in total conscious control of your behaviour. If you know what to do, but you can’t seem to get yourself to do it, you have probably been giving negative or conflicting message to your subconscious mind.

The behaviour that is produced by subconscious conditioning is more commonly referred to as habits. Just as easily as you can become victim to negative habits, you can reprogram your subconscious mind with positive instructions and gain positive habits. It all begins with a conscious decision and written goals.

The conscious mind is lot like the captain at the bridge of a ship. The captain gives the command and sends it down in the engine room; no matter what comes down from the bridge (conscious mind), the crew (subconscious mind) obeys.

Fortunately, the one thing in life you always have control over is your thoughts. If you want to be successful in attaining desired fitness or any other endeavour, you must master your communication with yourself.
Next article will consist of the most powerful goal setting formula of the world with just 11 simple steps.
