Smile is a curve that sets many things in life straight and I totally believe in its power. What are we doing to save our beautiful smiles? Besides its functions on the basic chewing and eating food, our teeth serve a bunch of other purposes, the highlight for most of us being its cosmetic value. Without a second thought, the smile is one of the first things someone would notice about you and having a healthy smile is undoubtedly a pleasure to the see.

Well ideally, brush twice a day with an appropriate toothpaste and a suitable toothbrush. Your dentist will guide you best on what is to be used. Secondly floss in between your teeth or rather keeps your interdental area clean. You could even use something like a waterpik which is a fun way to maintain the areas in between the teeth hygienic. Most importantly, make sure to visit your dentist twice a year in the lower limit so as to keep your oral health in check.

Very few of us have come across other ways to maintain oral health apart from brushing twice and even fewer follow anything else.  It is no secret that the health of your mouth directly or indirectly impacts the health of your overall body.

Oil pulling is one such medium by which you could maintain a good oral health for long. Its proved that keeping an oil like coconut oil in your mouth and squishing it at intervals for around 15-20 minutes in the morning has unparalleled benefits such as it acts as an antibacterial and makes your mouth sparkling clean.

Another practice is the use of Essential oils. Essential oils are helpful for various conditions of the mouth. I’m going to be listing below a few of the most common oral problems and the essential oils that can be used for its prevention.

Bleeding Gums- Lemon

Dry mouth- Lemon

Topically by applying it directly on the site or put a drop in the bristles of your toothbrush and brush normally. You could also consume it internally.
