Alcohol recovery at Florida healthcare centers

Alcohol addiction is harmful and debilitating. It can rip apart families, lead to financial insecurity and cause major health problems. Often, alcoholism coexists with other mental health conditions such as depression, anxiety, or PTSD. When looking for treatment, it is important to consider the severity of the addiction, as well as any coexisting conditions. The many facilities that provide addiction treatment in Florida offer a variety of treatment methods and financing options.

Support groups

Cost is one of the main concerns of individuals seeking addiction recovery. Most major cities offer support groups, such as Alcoholics Anonymous, that are free to any who would like to attend. These groups can provide insight, guidance, and emotional support for the substance user and his or her loved ones. To find such a group, simply conduct an internet search for alcoholism support groups in your area.

Individual Therapy

For those seeking more specific treatment than a support group, but don’t want to attend a rehabilitation facility, individual psychotherapy may be the best option. Most insurance companies pay for therapy. This provides the patient with individualized, thorough treatment that doesn’t interfere with daily life. It is also significantly less expensive than attending a treatment center.

Facilities By Region

There are many addiction treatment centers in Florida. These centers provide various approaches to therapy, and it is important to know what you are comfortable with before selecting a facility. Following is a list of alcohol treatment centers in Florida, categorized by region.

North Florida

  • A Life Recovery Center is a facility in Florida's Tallahassee area. The facility offers outpatient and inpatient treatment services, and they accept most insurances except Medicaid.
  • Beaches Recovery offers detox services in Jacksonville, and has a full facility in Jacksonville Beach. Their facility features inpatient, outpatient, and partial hospitalization treatment options. Beaches’ facilities offer art, music and fitness therapy to enhance patient recovery. They also accept many major insurance plans.

Central Florida

  • The Recovery Village in Umatilla is a residential center that offers inpatient and outpatient services. They provide access to a detox center, individual and group therapy, and family programs. Like many facilities, they offer activities to promote holistic health, such as yoga, meditation, and even equine therapy. They accept most private insurance plans.
  • University Behavioral Center, located in Orlando, offers inpatient, outpatient and detox services. They also accept involuntary admissions and they serve minors. University emphasizes trauma-informed care and counselling. Their facility includes a ropes course and they offer equine therapy; but it is a hospital. They accept most major insurance plans, including Medicaid.

Southeast Florida

  • Harbor Village Detox is a popular treatment facility in Miami. Their inpatient services include the holistic care of psychotherapy, in addition to yoga and meditation classes and their patients have access to a spa. Harbor Village accepts many insurance plans and offers financing.
  • HeadWaters at Origins is a private and secluded treatment center in West Palm Beach. Their work focuses on wealthy professionals and thus they have a deep commitment to privacy. Because they primarily treat patients of a high net worth, they only accept a few private insurance plans. They do not offer financing or accept state insurance.
This is by no means a complete list, but these are highly rated facilities in each area. When searching for a treatment center in Florida that you would like to attend, consider utilizing a third party source such as www.rehabs.com or even Yelp. These sites provide reviews and input from those who have attended these facilities in the past.
