Top Beauty benefits of Drinking Water
You might likely know that it's important to stay hydrated. The amount of water you consume everyday plays a vital role in maintaining a healthy body. There are many beauty benefits too! Read on.
This would probably be the millionth time some of us are hearing the term ‘water’ for health. But mind you, that’s how important and vital this is for our well-being. It’s the simplest and most effective way to maintain gorgeous skin and hair. Why just skin and hair? It takes care of your overall health.
So how does water work on our system?
To begin with, our body is made up of around 60% water. This might be in the form of saliva, cerebrospinal fluid (the protective fluid which covers our brain and spinal cord), the digestive juices etc. So when we consume water, any harmful toxins or waste material is flushed out of our system. Picture this- you have a pipe and this pipe is constantly subjected to various unwanted junk (all thanks to the garbage we consume invariably). How do you plan on cleaning this pipe? By subjecting it to water right?
That’s exactly what our internal gastro enteral or digestive system or stomach in common terms is like. It is like a pipe. Please remember a healthy stomach means a healthy you. Your stomach secretes digestive juices which need to be regulated and that’s done with the help of water. Therefore, drinking enough water flushes the toxins out of your system, thereby reflecting as healthy on the outside. Thus you have glowing skin and lustrous hair. Bonus: your skin retains the moisture and shows fewer wrinkles and your aging process is delayed greatly. It comes across as well moisturized and a natural shine and gleam follows.
Coming to the hair- what water does to our hair is nothing less than magic. From hair fall to dry itchy scalp, from eczema to psoriasis water can be beneficial in all cases. It also makes the hair looking lustrous and strong.
Having spoken so much about the benefits of water on our skin and hair, let’s come to the practicality of it. More often than not, we tend to forget about drinking water or are even unsure of how much to drink or sometimes even lose track of how much we’ve consumed.
Ideally we need to drink:
2 liters or 8 cups (around 250ml) of water a day.
We can either have a 1liter bottle or make sure we consume 2 bottles every day or label our cups or mugs and have them 8 times in a day or have a couple of sips every half hour as per our capacity. These days we even have mobile applications to help us track our intake or even remind us to drink water. Also, you can use the fruit infuser water bottle to reach the goal of drinking water every day comfortably. Just put in a bottle of some fruit or favorite herb, your drink will taste great, and this will stimulate you to drink more.
I hope from now on, we will all make an effort to stay hydrated.
Cheers! Stay Beautiful!
