Defence Satellites 2017 will provide information from leading nations on the capabilities of their satellite systems.
With a greater need for satellite imagery to assist global armed forces on the ground when in combat missions, Defence Satellites will be a timely event to discuss the latest capabilities from the leading nations who have developed strong satellite capabilities. There is also a greater need to share resources and many nations are now creating joint space missions to save on costs. This event will discuss the importance of international cooperation in developing space programs.

Also, a workshop will be held on the 23rd of May 2017, from 09.00 – 16.00 on ‘Safeguarding your Transmissions - the Technology & Tools.’ Maintaining assured and reliable satellite communications links across commercial and military sectors are critical and technology plays a big part in that endeavour. This Workshop takes the journey through the latest techniques, technology and tools that ensure transmitted services are guaranteed and RFI resolved. From using ‘BIG’ Data to solve RFI; the “Digital” Ground Station, Software Defined Products to today’s VSAT system developments; add to that management, cybersecurity and commercial sector initiatives all form an eclectic mix that this Workshop will help look at how future communications networks are developed and yet smart enough to deal with quantity, quality and speed of services that are required.
In recent years there has been an increase in satellite launches which has created problems with overcrowding in orbit. Many agencies are now looking in Space Debris and Situation Awareness scenarios. Defence Satellites will discuss this issue and what international agencies are doing to solve this growing issue.
