Stardust
You look at the twinkling stars
And you don't see how far they are..
You believe if only you went a little high,
You'd be able to catch them falling out of the sky..
You look at the dazzling moon
And don't really see how distant it is
You believe if only you could jump off your plane,
You'd be able to land on this reflecting mirror..
You look at some around you
And don't really see how far behind they are
You believe if only you slow down from your super pace,
You'd be able to let them get on to the rocket that you're riding..
Stars from far far away, are nothing but stardust if they ever hit earth..
The only thing you'd catch is your breath - not the moon, by jumping off a plane..
And people, well they lose you even if you want to find them,
For they can pretend all they can to be close,
but reality lets them touch what's truly within their reach..
And you don't see how far they are..
You believe if only you went a little high,
You'd be able to catch them falling out of the sky..
You look at the dazzling moon
And don't really see how distant it is
