How Travelling Can Keep You Healthy and Youthful

Travelling is the way to healthy and youthful life. We're sure that you wouldn't disagree with this. Read ON!
We’re all searching for the fountain of youth, but the truth is that we don’t have to struggle to appear young a beautiful. In fact, struggling is exactly what got you those fine lines in the first place. Instead, focus on enjoying your life and living it to the fullest.
Traveling and teaching English is open to everyone of all ages and it is really the ultimate way to keep youthful! The TEFL Academy, which is the world's leading TEFL course provider has just launched it's 2021 TEFL World Factbook to give teachers an idea of earning potential, degree requirements, typical students profiles and average teaching hours per country

If you love to travel, you’ll be happy to know that it’s one of the best things you can do to stay healthy and youthful (if you have the right outlook).

Exploring different cuisines

It’s no secret that the standard American diet is unhealthy and can lead to premature aging. So if that’s all you know, you’re probably going to age before your time. But in truth, most other cultures place a strong emphasis on fresh, whole foods instead of processed junk.

Fresh fruits and vegetables are rich in antioxidants that can fight free radicals that often lead to wrinkles, age spots and other unsightly things.

Try taking a cooking class in every country you visit. This way, you will have a well-rounded approach to cooking that is sure to keep you healthy and vibrant.

Exploring various cultures

You may be personally happy, but unfortunately, that’s not the norm. At least, it’s not the norm in America. If you want to experience what a happy culture looks like, consider traveling to Costa Rica. This country consistently ranks # 1 in the Happy Planet Index (HPI). Essentially, Costa Rica is the happiest country in the world, year after year.

And if you want a spiritual experience and a promise of enlightenment, consider traveling to India and learning how to meditate from Buddhist monks. Meditation has been shown to reduce cortisol levels (a sign of stress) and help promote relaxation. Meditation has also been shown to increase skin resistance, which will help you keep more of that precious youthful collagen. A more relaxed face is a more youthful face.

Offering a break from reality

When life gets truly stressful, sometimes you just need to take a step back and regroup. We see this theme play out in movies, like Eat Pray Love and Under the Tuscan Sun. But you don’t need to commit to a world tour or buy a villa in Tuscany to see the benefits of travel.

Oftentimes, just getting away from the stresses of daily life is enough to reset your clock. When you step away from the stress, you’re free to realize what’s truly important in life. And if you’re like most of us, there’s a disconnect between what you’re stressing about and what’s truly important.

But if you’re dealing with a serious issue, like grieving or addiction recovery, travel can be especially beneficial. There something about getting out of your comfort zone that can help you gain a new perspective. That’s why so many people find success with a residential rehab in another state.

Freeing up time for fun

As they say, laughter is the best medicine. Most people are more likely to do fun things when they’re on vacation away from home. That’s when we spend the time and effort to explore because we want to get the most out of the experience.

On vacation, you may see a comedy show, go standup paddle boarding or parasailing. These are all things that most people are less likely to do when they’re home. Things like this will help keep you looking and feeling young.

These vacation-type activities have one thing in common: they both will help keep your mind young. When you laugh, your entire body’s physiology changes. Your blood pressure goes down, which is great for your heart. The body releases endorphins that lift the spirit and battle against the stress hormone cortisol. And when you choose an active sport, your body produces the same endorphins. In this way, the benefits of laughter and the benefits of exercise are similar. Travel more and experience more of both.

Bottom line

It’s true that travel can be stressful for some people, but it doesn’t have to be. With the right planning and outlook, you can reduce stress, learn new things and keep your body and mind young for years to come. Choose your favorite destination and start planning your next vacation.
