An Ode to The Indian Army
The sun swelters harsh on them
The frost bites into their skin
Brooks of their blood flow; yet
The metals on their chest clink with pride.
They kill, not because they hate
They kill, because they love
Each of today’s smiles, laughter and revelry
Exists due to that selflessness of the olive green livery.
Up soars the tricolour
Up, we hold our heads as Indians
Solely attributed to the bravest of many a knight
Guarding the Mother audaciously, day and night.
Each tear shed may speak volumes of love, yet
Each drop of blood speaks larger volumes
Each valiant soul, with his heart on sleeves
Ensures The Anthem serves its purpose.
Thank you, The Indian Army.
